Meet the team

  • Scott Allen

I have achieved 10,000 hrs in a number of fields in diagnostic ultrasound. I am mindful of what I do and know that the diagnosis requires knowledge not just the ultrasound scan findings but also the history of what has happened to you and clinical findings. I strive to work closely with the clinicians who refer patients to me, so that the best results will be achieved.

  • Daniel Maguire

I am a New Zealand trained sonographer with diverse experience across multiple disciplines with professional experience working throughout New Zealand and in the UK. During my post graduate ultrasound training I developed a special interest in musculoskeletal imaging. On completing my postgraduate studies, I have focused my attention on honing my diagnostic skills using musculoskeletal ultrasound. Over the past 10 years I estimate I have performed more than 20,000 examinations within this subspecialty and now work exclusively in this area.

I strive to work in an evidence-based manner, and in collaboration with my colleagues and referrers I aim to provide accurate and clinically relevant diagnostic information to aid clinical decision-making assisting in the patient’s recovery.

I love my job and I’m passionate about my ongoing education. It is a privilege to help my patients on their road to recovery and to work with a diverse group of talented health professionals who refer to us.

I grew up in Dunedin and I am married with two daughters. I have an active lifestyle and enjoy a range of outdoor pursuits including swimming, skiing and wakeboarding. I have previously played rugby, competed in athletics and have been involved with surf lifesaving.

I am interested in musculoskeletal diagnosis from a structural and functional perspective. My background in research, teaching and rehabilitation contributes to solving clinical problems. Currently, I am interested in acute musculoskeletal care and believe that early diagnosis gives us the best basis for a carefully structured recovery.

I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and listening to their stories.

I live in west Auckland with my wife and two children. I stay active by working outdoors in my spare time and am a regular gym-goer. I also enjoy spending time kayaking, swimming and fishing with my kids.
